Bookings for summer 2026 opened on 15 October — and the new portal buckled
Reservations for the summer 2026 season opened on 15 October 2025, for every hut that sells through the Tour du Mont-Blanc association's booking platform. As usual, the popular nights went in hours.
The portal itself was the story
The platform had been rebuilt for this season, and it did not survive first contact with the opening-day rush. Bookings were closed again for a period while the association worked through the problems. If you tried on the day and came away with nothing, it was not necessarily you.
What this means if you are planning
Two things worth internalising. First, only the association's member huts can be booked on that platform — everything else takes its own reservations, and you have to contact each one yourself. Second, opening day is a sprint: the people who get the nights they want are the ones who arrive with the itinerary already decided.
That is the part a planner can genuinely help with. Decide your days and your pace in advance, know which huts your plan actually needs, and have the list in front of you before the clock starts.
