The 11 Stages of the Tour du Mont Blanc — Distances, Climb & Times

The Tour du Mont Blanc is classically walked in 11 stages over 165.7 km, anti-clockwise from Les Houches through France, Italy and Switzerland and back. Courmayeur, 65.7 km in, is the natural halfway point — it is the only place besides Chamonix with a tunnel bus back, which is what makes walking half the loop practical. Below is every stage with distance, ascent, descent and a realistic walking time. The RandoNav planner can re-split these stages into any number of days to match your own pace.

Walking clockwise?

The same 11 stages apply in reverse: you still start and finish at Les Houches, but you meet the cols the other way round and swap the ascent and descent figures. Read more in our guide on which direction to walk.
