TMB Planner is live — with hut availability checked every hour
The TMB Planner is now live. Set how many days you have and how you walk, and it splits the 165.7 km loop into daily stages that end at real huts — then shows you, night by night, which of those huts actually have beds.
Why availability is the whole problem
We took a snapshot of the Tour du Mont-Blanc booking portal in July, across all 40 huts it sells and the next fourteen months. It returned more than 14,000 full hut-nights against fewer than 900 free. That is not a bad week — that is the ordinary state of this trail. Reservations for the following summer open in the autumn and the sought-after nights are gone the same day.
So a planner that only splits kilometres into days is not much use here. Ours re-checks the portal every hour and shows each night as free, last seats, full, or phone-only, with the number of places left where the portal publishes it.
Cancellation alerts

What else is in it
Offline topographic maps, elevation profiles, GPS with off-route warning, a morning briefing with the day's weather, PDF and GPX export, and a shareable link with a QR code. It works with no signal, which matters between the Grand Col Ferret and the Col de Balme.
Six of the best-known huts — Bonatti, Elisabetta, Elena, the Croix du Bonhomme, Lac Blanc and Bellachat — take their own reservations and are not on the portal. The planner marks those clearly and links to each.
