On the pass at 1527 m where the Bovine and Arpette routes come back together, with the Trient glacier hanging opposite and the road from Martigny running over the top. A hotel, a restaurant, a shop and a campsite, all in one building on a col.
The bus stop outside is the most useful thing in Switzerland if your Tour has gone wrong: Martigny is twenty minutes down the hairpins, and from Martigny the railway reaches anywhere. It is also a good place to break the day if Arpette has taken more out of you than expected — Trient village is another 45 minutes downhill, and there is no shame in stopping at the col instead.
