The place
At 1120 m on the final descent into Les Houches, a couple of kilometres from the finish. Formerly the Tupilak, and still known by that name by anyone who walked the Tour more than a few years ago.
It works at either end of the trip. As a last night it is a gentle way to finish — you arrive off the Brévent descent with the hardest part behind you and stroll into Les Houches next morning. As a first night it is the alternative to sleeping in the village itself, slightly higher and quieter, with the climb to the Col de Voza starting more or less at the door. It sells through the Tour portal.
